If you have ever used email then you already know how to use ImageShare. Your images are uploaded by your referring physicians to a branded site created for you by the Vigilant team. Uploading is a simple five-click process designed to be completed by physicians or support staff. No IT help is required for any step of this process.
Your Branded Website
When you begin with ImageShare, we first build a branded website for your institution. You will direct all outside centers looking to send you images to this site:
This is now the branded web-portal your institution will use for image transfers to and from outside facilities. All activity occurs through this site. Being web-based means that users can access the site from any internet connected computer. Additionally, this means that there is no hardware to purchase or software to install.
Easy Upload
Because the success of this system depends upon the participation of your referral network, outside centers do not need an ImageShare account to upload to you. Images uploaded to your site are hosted on our servers and sorted by recipient. Login to see all of your images waiting for you in your worklist:
24/7 Access to Your Images from Anywhere
Because our system is based off of a web-portal you can access your worklist and our web-viewer from any internet connected device, including iPads and smartphones. This means that you can have a study sent to you from the other side of the country and you can view it at a hospital workstation, your home, or even on your phone while on the go. Clicking on the thumbnail or text in your worklist will automatically run DICOM images in our built-in web-viewer:
Additionally, right click on the study for options to download the files as a zip or, for advanced users, grab a virtual copy of the disk which often comes with a bundled viewer. Once downloaded these studies can be reviewed in you preferred viewer or pushed into your PACS for longterm storage.
Collaborate Internally
We also support group accounts for teams as well as the ability to share worklists. This improves internal collaboration and efficiency by ensuring all team members have 24/7 access to recent images. Team members no longer have to dig through PACS to find recent images, all members can be notified as soon as an image arrives.
Outbound Model
We recognize that often images need to be sent out and have provided a feature that allows you to send studies to anyone in the world whether or not they have an ImageShare account. Simply click the “share a link to this study” button while in the viewer and enter on the next page the email address of the person you want to send to. Add any comments and press “send link” to email a temporary and encrypted link to this specific study. This link is set to expire within 48 hours for security purposes. Within that 48 hour window the recipient can download the study for long term storage and viewing.
